Vonn clinched the title with a victory in the super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to crown a remarkable season
The American skier Lindsey Vonn was crowned for the third consecutive year as the female skiing event after winning on Friday morning in the supergiant played in the German station of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, scene of the finals of the World Cup.
Vonn was seeking his third consecutive Crystal Globe and earned his objective style, with victory in the supergiant that rounds out a remarkable season in which he also has won an Olympic gold and World Cup Downhill and Super-G.
Germany's Maria Riesch, his great rival this year, had moved to U.S. pressure after testing downhill and giant, the latter in which Vonn crashed on the first set.
However, Minnesota did not fail this morning and won the super G with a record 1:19.30, while the Germanic mark only was fourth at 1:19.89. Vonn was ahead in 16 hundredths to Austrian Elisabeth Goergl, and more than half a second to Switzerland's Nadia Styger.
