The swimmer Gemma Mengual, 34, one of the Spanish athletes with the best record, will announce tomorrow his retirement from the practice of synchronized swimming, specialty in which he had become a world leader.

Mengual has called a press conference tomorrow (12:30), announcing his future plans. Initially the idea was to retire after the London Games, where he would compete in the category of equipment, but has finally decided to retire, according to federal sources explained.
The swimmer returned to training last October after two years of absence and maternity. Mengual even competed in the `World Trophy´ Championship in China. The swimmer treasures 46 medals from Olympic, World, `World Trophy´, European and European Cup. Stresses the twenty medals won in World Championships and Olympic silver medals won in the Beijing Games.
Gemma Mengual has 26 years active practitioner of synchronized swimming and 15 years was the maximum bet of the current national coach, Anna Tarrés, who always guided his career.
